ASA announces plan to resume pre-pandemic global expansion efforts, continuing to build strategic partnerships with international professional assessment organizations (OPVs).
Such connections with like-minded organizations and like-minded organizations will help build global public trust of members and the evaluation profession through upholding the highest levels of ethical and professional standards, an integral part of the mission of the Society.
“Excellence knows no borders, which is why the time has come more than ever to connect with our international counterparts,” said ASA CEO Johnnie White.
“Throughout the pandemic, we have seen continued demand from members, assessors and professionals around the world for ASA’s education, accreditation and membership programs, as well as consumers looking to hire qualified members, and as the world moves forward, the ASA is anticipating this demand. will only increase.”
To prepare for this, ASA has implemented over the past 15 months a new governance model to better foster strategic leadership; modernizes its technological infrastructure, including new association, learning and financial management systems to improve efficiency and customer service; and work to complete an update of its website to modernize and improve the user experience.
The timing of resuming expansion efforts is also determined by the recent election of the Society’s first international member and non-U.S. Citizen as president, David Crick, ASA, a machinery and equipment assessor specializing in aeronautical assessment.
“David’s unique experience, leadership and perspective will be a valuable asset,” added White. “His confirmation through membership attests to the Company’s continued commitment to an international footprint. He, along with other leaders and staff, will be instrumental in meeting the needs of our international members from 60 countries and ensuring that our global expansion efforts are fully realized.”
Asked about his new tenure, David responded, “I am honored and delighted to assume the role of International President and look forward to supporting ASA’s global reach.”
Recent examples of ASA’s international and joint strategic partnership programs include efforts to combat unconscious bias and promote diversity and inclusion; discipline-focused critical COVID-19 resources; membership reductions for low- and middle-income countries; and upcoming international conferences such as the 12e International Review Conference in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
